Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern Railroad (DM&E) Statement On Minnesota City, Minnesota, Area Derailment

Sioux Falls, SD – Sixteen DM&E railcars derailed west of Minnesota City, Minnesota, earlier today. There are no injuries associated with the derailment. Leaking soybean oil has been contained none of which reached the nearest waterway approximately 1000 feet from the site. The railroad is working with federal, state and local officials as it assembles clean-up personnel at the site and investigates the cause of the accident.
